Meet Dana

THE WOMAN BEHIND THE MUSIC

I fired myself in a
church parking lot.

It was a hot afternoon, and I was sitting in a car that smelled like stale French fries, listening to a Dr. Phil CD. Then he asked a question that went through me like a knife.

I didn’t do the sensible thing and sit with it. I doubled down. I went right back to my search for the elusive holy grail named Balance, with a bigger planner and a tighter schedule.

I’m Dana, and I live in Canyon Lake, in the Texas Hill Country. I’m married to Douglas. We have two grown children, Andrew and Mandolin, and their spouses, Dani and Gary, and three grandchildren who make me glad I never mastered the art of sitting still.

I’ve taught Latter-day Saint youth at camps and on treks for years, and I’ve given more than my share of Relief Society lessons. I’m a self-proclaimed Big 80’s Girl, and I have no plans to grow out of it.

I write and speak for women who are faithful and tired at the same time, because I’ve been both. My first book, She Tripped Me, comes out November 7, 2026.

If you’ve ever felt like you were failing at a test no one else could see, pull up a chair.

Welcome.
